The "Morris Cutlass Pistol" is 16" overall, 8-1/2" blade of 1095 steel, hardened to 56Rc. Barrel is 4-1/2" long, either a .45, or .50 caliber, black powder muzzle loader. This specific one is 100% my design, but not 'my' idea. These were made back in the 1830's, and it was the first formal percussion style handgun, and the only dual purpose weapon of its style ever commissioned by the US Navy for the 'Wilkes South Seas' expedition. I did not want to ''copy'' the original "Elgin" design, but merely make 'my version' of such an amazingly, awesome historical weapon. This is also the type weapon I made, to win my episode of 'Discovery Channels "Master Of Arms" TV show in 2018...
